Q. What is a personal trainer and what
does she do?
A. A personal trainer is a dedicated fitness professional who has
obtained advanced training and certifications to help you maximize your results. Their job is to
motivate you and keep you on track through accountability.
Q. I’m afraid as a woman that I will
become bulky looking if I lift weights. Is this true?
A. Nothing could be further from the truth! You would have to lift
massive amounts of weights on a regular basis and be eating a very specific high protein diet for that
to ever happen. Weight training is an extremely important aspect of personal training. Weight training
on a regular basis virtually ensures that you will build lean muscle, which in turn burns
fat!
Q. How does lean muscle mass burn
fat?
A. For every pound of lean muscle mass your body has, it has to work
harder and in turn, burns an extra 30-50 calories per day. It takes on average 3-4 months to add 3-5
lbs of lean muscle mass. That means after a few months, your body would be burning an extra 90-250
extra calories per day, by doing nothing else!
You add to this, on-going training and cardio workouts and just taking
this one step can help you shed pounds. Additionally, lean muscle helps fire your metabolism like
nothing else, which in turn burns fat, not just calories. |
